Synedgen has developed Synoplex, an FDA-indexed Minor Use and Minor Species (MUMS) product for the treatment of infected, chronic, and non-infected wounds in elephants and rhinoceroses. Synoplex is indicated for topical application on animals in the family Elephantidae and Rhinocerotidae for treatment of foot and dermal lesions infected with aerobic or facultative anaerobic Gram- positive and/or Gram-negative bacteria; and for treatment of sterile chronic foot and dermal lesions.
Synoplex is intended for treatment of:
- Chronic foot disease
- Cracked nails
- Abscesses
- Lesions
- Ulcers
- Fissures
- Chronic non-healing dermal or subdermal wounds
- Pressure sores caused by chronic inflammation or infection
In studies on elephants and rhinoceroses with compound infected wounds, Synoplex:
- Clears dirt and debris
- Disperses wound bacteria (Bacillus, Cornyebacterium spp., Enterobacter spp., Aeromonas spp.)
- Promotes wound healing
Synedgen’s wound care technologies have tremendous potential in improving health and procedure-related outcomes in our companion animals. Their injuries often include cuts, tears, breaks, bite wounds, accidental injuries, trauma and gunshot wounds, pressure ulcers, or other damage to their tissue.
It is our goal to identify partners willing to sponsor studies to expand Synedgen’s wound care technologies for use in companion and warrior animals. Please contact us to explore ways in which we can develop high-value collaborations in the animal care space.
